Canada Invites 4200 Immigration Candidates

The Canadian Government has recently issued 4200 invitations to people willing to take permanent residency there. A draw on 2nd September had the unveiling of the names of these people.

Among the most successful Candidates, a considerable chunk was from the Federal Skilled Worker program. The draw conducted was the third since 18th March. So far, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have completed 162 such draws.

A minimum comprehensive ranking system decides the outcome during each draw. This number was 475 for the draw we are talking about, and that is one point more than the last draw conducted on 5th August. The number of invitations issued is the highest after 4500 were given in the February slot this year.

Such a large number of invitations proves that the Canadian Government welcomes immigrants in the future. This year IRCC conducted such draws every two weeks so that they can accommodate the maximum people.

The draws involved at least 3900 invites to such individuals. However, the Government has been alternating between all programs and program-specific draws. In the draw taking place on 2nd September, the number was increased by 300.

Express entry is a process that facilitates entry of the pool system into Canada. The candidates here are for three main immigration classes. This is inclusive of the Federal skilled worker program, the Federal skilled traders class, and the Canadian experience class.

A fixed number of applicants get invitations to apply for this draw. The candidates are selected based on the ranking they have received. Such invitation rounds take place every two weeks. The chosen candidates are mostly from the pool of the three groups mentioned.

The draw that we are talking about was approximately the 29th draw of this year. Plus, the number of ITA’s that were issued this year is a whopping 69,950. The number is record-breaking in comparison to previous years.

Again in this draw, the IRCC used its Tie-breaker rule. The authorities used the time stamp of 2nd September 2020, 14:17:32 UTC. So, all those who had received a rating of 475 and more and applied before this time got through. You must enter the Express Entry pool before the decided time to qualify.

The Government uses the tie-breaker rule for a specific reason. Sometimes there is more than one candidate with the same rating. In that case, there has to be a particular method to decide. As before, the CRS rating is the primary factor in determining which candidates would make through.

Other factors that control the outcome of the draw are the size of the lot. In certain situations where the number of candidates is more, the minimum CRS score reduces. Also, another critical factor is the time taken between the draws. On average, the lesser the duration between the draws leads to a reduction in the CRS score.

The Government of Canada wants the maximum people to take advantage of their draw system. Therefore it has tried its best to reduce the technicalities of the same. In times of Corona, this approach seems to be helping in the long term. Students who are wanting to start their further education look for countries with such a benevolent ideology.

The candidates who are found eligible to participate are each issued a CRS score. Points are decided based on multiple factors. The candidate’s age, education, professional work experience get a priority. Apart from that, their proficiency in English and French are also deciding factors.

Based on the above, the system allots the CRS score.  The higher the score, the more are your chances of getting selected to the final pool. In the case of students, past marks and educational performance get importance.

Mostly a job offer in hand is not required for you to be selected. Though if you have one before applying, it acts as a bonus. The CRS system allots specific extra points to those candidates who have one. With that, the entry into the system becomes smoother than before.
